Four important baby growth stages
Stage 1: 3 Months, Head control
After birth within 3 months, baby’s head and neck should be getting stronger and will be able to gain about 80% head support. The gradual growth of the brain and spinal cord makes the baby’s neck become stiff and stronger. Leaving the baby to lay on her stomach over a playmat or soft surface helps to make the neck muscles stronger.
If you find it takes longer than 4 months for a baby to support his neck, it shows the lack of brain growth. In such situations what we should do is, identify what actually causing the baby to grow slow by proper medical checkup. Physiotherapy is an effective treatment for this condition.
Stage 2: 5 Months, Baby starts to crawl and roll over
On attaining 4 months baby starts trying to crawl and roll over from the position we lay them. And within 5 months baby starts to lay down and crawl by himself. Mostly we’ve seen babies are laid on their stomach, which is a comfortable position for them to play around. At this stage, we should always have good attention on them. Chances are like they may crawl or pick over any dangerous objects and crawl over to fall from heights
Delay in finding this progress of growth might be issues affecting the baby’s spinal cord or brain. These conditions should be identified and treated with proper medical approaches.
Stage 3: 6 – 7 Months , Baby starts to sit
On reaching 5-month baby will be able to sit with the help of a support on her her. And within 6-7 months most babies will try to put efforts for sitting by themselves. On reaching 8 months the baby will be capable of sitting by themselves. And by 10-11 months sitting baby will try to move to their sides and play around. Baby starts pivoting gradually. This stage is a milestone for babies because only if a baby can sit properly will be able to stand on their legs.
Stage 4: Before 12 Months, Stand and walking
A six months old baby will be able to withhold their body weight on their small legs if we support them to stand. And by 9 months the baby will try to stand by themselves with a support of any objects like chairs or anything which they can get hold off. It’s a stage of growth which we should take good attention on them. They may fall down or get hold on things which may hurt them.
By the month of 10 babies will start to walk, not all alone but with support on a chair or walker. You may take hold of their hands and make them walk along with you. And by the time of 1year baby will be capable of walk on their own. By the age of 15months, the baby will walk perfect and quick.
